Generally, breast cosmetic surgery is always performed under general anaesthesia.  The surgery of breast enhancement using silicone implants takes less than one hours to be done. Dr Mounir prefers using Mentor silicone implant. Technically speaking the implant can be placed either under the breast tissue (subglandular) or under the muscle (submuscular). Dr Mounir starts by making an incision 4 to 6 cm long in the breast crease.

Breast augmentation is usually the most rewarding cosmetic surgery treatment. Clearly woman’s self-esteem could be improved greatly. Breast enhancement procedure existed since the beginning of the twentieth century; breast augmentation involves the implantation of a silicone prosthetics in the breast either under the breast tissue, above the pectoral muscle, or under the pectoral muscles. Subglandular implantation (infront of the muscle) was the original method used in breast enlargement surgery.

The beauty of the female breast is often defined by its shape and firmness. Usually, women who are self-conscious and unhappy with their breast shape and size due to different reasons such as volume loss after pregnancy, genetics, or following other breast surgery, do seek breast enhancement. Indeed, breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to increase the size of the breast. Our experience has shown that it is one of the most successful and rewarding cosmetic operations done at the Centre for cosmetic surgery.

Breast enlargement, like any cosmetic surgical treatment, is invasive. Performed on an outpatient basis under general anaesthesia, it is important that you prepare for the procedure by following the specific instructions outlined by your plastic surgeon at The Centre for cosmetic surgery during your consultation.

If you are smoker, Dr Mounir will ask you to stop smoking immediately and completely or at least 6 weeks before the surgery and at least 2 weeks after the surgery. Dr Mounir will also review your past medical history and if there is any investigations that need to be done prior to the surgery he will plan this for you either privately or in cooperation with your GP.  If you are taking any medication (or have been taking any medication) then you do need to inform Dr Mounir about it as this could have an impact on your surgery or even on your healing process.
